3.5% Unemployment
NCSL has predicted that the unemployment rate will remain the same at 3.5% or less for 2022. The study showed that nearly 30 states had the same unemployment rate steady at 3.5 percent while in 9 states this was higher than 3.5%. The highest unemployment rate was found to be in D.C. (4.7%) while the lowest unemployment rate was found at Utah and Vermont both at 2.1%.
40% Layoffs
In 2021, nearly 17 million people lost their jobs in US according to Zippa, the career expert. Their research showed that nearly 40% of the working individuals were at least laid off once in 2021. The South side saw the majority of layoffs from 2021-2022 with around 3.23 million people losing their jobs.

According to US Bureau of Labor Statistics, it was shown that 3.5% of the payroll labor are absent from their jobs. Thing to note for this information is that these are full-time employees working at their companies. Although there are many reasons for employees to be absent from work, The absent workforces signifies the significant amount of work missed just due to absenteeism that in turn affects the company output.
