The Need for People Skilled in AI has Surged and job listings have Increased from 519 to Over 10,000

The demand for individuals with generative artificial intelligence skills has skyrocketed, with job postings increasing from 519 in 2022 to over 10,000 since ChatGPT's debut in December. This marks a remarkable 1,848% surge. In September 2023, there were over 385,000 AI-related job postings, primarily for roles focused on developing new AI applications like data scientists and software engineers.

In a robust job market, employers are providing more paid time off, leading to a growing disparity between hours paid and hours worked. As workers balance work, family, and health, they're making use of these extended benefits. Recent data from the Labor Department shows that paid sick leave is now offered to 80% of workers, up from 67% a decade ago, with paid vacation at 77% and paid family leave increasing significantly to 27% from 12%.

The Biden administration will designate over two dozen U.S. cities as "Tech Hubs" to enhance manufacturing jobs, increase investment in technological innovation, and enhance America's global competitiveness in future industries. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo will join President Joe Biden in announcing the selection of 31 states to receive funding for creating Tech Hubs.

Many Gen Z and millennial workers turn to TikTok for career advice. Resume Builder's report reveals that approximately half of Gen Z and millennial workers rely on career-related advice from TikTok. Additionally, 11% of respondents in an October survey have paid TikTok creators for career coaching, often spending between $500 to $1,500 for their services.
