Labor Department report stated that in the U.S employers added 311,000 jobs in February and the unemployment rate raised to 3.6% when compared to the prior year January’s 3.4% as more people seek to work.

After the pandemic, women have been accruing more jobs than men for four consecutive months. Females have held all nonfarm jobs by 49.8%. Compared to the previous year job opportunities grew and nearly 1.5 million mothers were actively in the labor force.

Job growth is slowing down in some industries, information technology has lost 25,000 jobs, transportation and warehousing lost 21,500 jobs, finance and insurance lost 10,000 jobs, but jobs in leisure and hospitality increased by 105,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate for Black and Hispanic women rose to 5.1% from 4.7% and Hispanic women jumped to 4.8% from 4.4% according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Both groups have seen their labor force participation rates rise.
